Log Switch

Turkish equivalent: Redo log geçişiDomain: Oracle

The Oracle transition from the current online redo log group to another group after a switch condition is reached.

Oracle Runtime Context

A log switch moves Oracle from the current online redo log group to another group after the active group fills or a switch is requested. In ARCHIVELOG mode, archiving and checkpoint behavior connect the switch rate to recovery and storage activity.

Interpretation Boundary

Frequent switches can indicate high redo generation or undersized log groups, but the count alone is not proof of a performance problem. Commit latency, archive throughput, checkpoint pressure, and workload rate provide the necessary context.
