Diarization Error Rate
A speaker-diarization metric combining missed speech, false alarm speech, and speaker-confusion time relative to annotated reference segments.
Speech Processing Context
Diarization Error Rate aggregates speaker-confusion, missed-speech, and false-alarm time under a specified scoring protocol. Collar duration, overlap treatment, and speaker-label mapping can materially change the reported number, so these settings are part of the metric definition in practice.
Evaluation Boundary
DER is not speaker-identification accuracy. Diarization usually uses anonymous speaker labels, and the hypothesis labels may be optimally permuted against reference speakers during scoring.
