Language Model

Turkish equivalent: Dil modeliDomain: Speech Processing

A probabilistic or neural model that scores sequences of linguistic units and provides contextual preference over possible word or token continuations.

Speech Processing Context

A language model assigns probabilities or scores to token sequences and can help ASR decoding choose between acoustically similar hypotheses. End-to-end recognizers already contain implicit linguistic information, while external language-model fusion can still be useful under some domain and decoding conditions.

Modeling Boundary

A language model does not recognize speech by itself; it must be combined with evidence derived from the audio when used in ASR.
