Just-In-Time Compilation
Just-In-Time Compilation — Runtime compilation that converts frequently executed bytecode or intermediate code into optimized machine code using observed execution profiles.
JVM Runtime Context
A JIT compiler turns bytecode or intermediate code into optimized machine code while the application runs. Runtime profiles can guide inlining, speculative optimization, code specialization, and later deoptimization, so the generated code can reflect the behavior of the actual workload.
Measurement Boundary
JIT code is not guaranteed to outperform static AOT code in every phase or workload. Warm-up time, profile stability, compilation thresholds, code-cache pressure, and target CPU characteristics all affect latency and throughput measurements.
