Flashback Query
An Oracle feature that queries data as it existed at an earlier SCN or timestamp when sufficient undo information remains available.
Oracle Runtime Context
Flashback Query reads data as it existed at an earlier SCN or timestamp when the required undo is still available. It is useful for operational-error investigation, historical validation, and selected forensic comparisons without restoring a separate database copy.
Retention Boundary
Flashback Query is not a backup. The reachable time range depends on undo capacity, retention behavior, workload, and whether the needed historical versions have actually survived.
